Thinking of the hotness of that day months ago in the desert. The expanse stretched before us, speckled with Joshuas and cholla. The sun was setting and we were running to catch the last bit of the red glowing light before it set and we were left with only the encroaching darkness around us. There was a fun anxiousness to chasing the sun, as if it were something we'd never see again. We wouldn't though. Not in this place, and not with what seemed like the endless time in this transitional period in our lives. The time we had was enough though. Our experience wasn't spoiled by too much time, it was perfect because we had too little.
